Martin Garrix goes 8-bit

It's common knowledge that most DJs are just computer nerds. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Martin Garrix has teamed up with E3, the year's biggest event in video game culture. Garrix was enlisted to produce this year's theme song and has come up with the name "Oops" for the 8-bit sounding future hit. So far we've only caught a glimpse of the song, in the video below, but we are excited to hear the full thing!

“I am so honored to team up with YouTube and play a part in celebrating the future of the video game industry at E3.”

To get into the spirit of E3, Garrix spent a day in LA playing Mario Kart with gamers Nadeshot, iJustine, iHasCupQuake, TypicalGamer, and Logic.

Martin Garrix isn't the first DJ to express interest in video games. Porter Robinson first streamed his World's album on Twitch while playing different games and responding to fans. He had some fans find him in game and follow him around. Porter even adds elements from Legend of Zelda to his live sets, while Zedd has a full remix out for the popular game.

"Oops" by Martin Garrix is scheduled to premiere Monday, June 13th, on YouTube Live at E3. The track will be available for free download at MartinGarrix.com, and you can watch some behind-the-scenes in the video below.
