Many artists tend to be creative individuals who like to lend their talents to multiple mediums in order to fully express their unique vision. Or they just see something they like and feel the need to add their own magic touch. That seems to be the case with Beastie Boys member Mike D who has recently launched a new line of men's accessories in collaboration with designer Clare Vivier.

The co-founder of the Beastie Boys spoke to Billboard about the project and how he was inspired by the French duo Cassius: “They wore elegant French bags, and it made my old backpack feel inferior.”

Mike D went on to discuss how he was simply bored with backpacks and those bags just don't fit his persona anymore: "I was showing up at the studio all the time with no bag, being like, ‘I don’t want to have a backpack. I’ve had backpacks my whole life and I’m a grown man now. I should have something better.”

The new line of products is catered toward the high end market, with the cheapest priced product being $55 for a bandana while the handbags will cost $525. You can find the complete range of items for the Mike D x Clare V line here.
