If you didn't think you read that correctly at first, you wouldn't be the only one - not a single BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix has been recorded in NYC. Pete Tong couldn't waste such an important series landmark on undeserving circumstances, though, so he worked out a way for Seth Troxler's upcoming set at Output in Brooklyn to be the first.

The Michigan-born, Berlin-based house and techno provocateur will be joined by Eli Escobar and Tong himself on the lineup for the September 23rd event. “This city has always been at the heart of global club culture,” Tong told Mixmag, “and I’m delighted to be bringing the Essential Mix here to celebrate that with one of America’s finest underground DJs, Seth Troxler.”

Early bird tickets have already sold out, but 2nd release pricing is still available as of this writing. To purchase tickets or for more information about Seth Troxler's BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix performance at Output on September 23rd, click here.
