Leave it to Skrillex to bookend bad news with a notable new release - even if both appear to have been by accident. The bass music innovator recently revealed that he and Diplo may discontinue touring as Jack Ü, but now a leak suspected to be a track of his titled “Call Him The Devil” featuring Wild Belle has found its way to his fans.
The SoundCloud link surfaced in a thread in the /R/Trap Subreddit, but had been unearthed by Your EDM by way of a different source near the end of last year. In its current form, it's arrived by way of a SoundCloud user that goes by "Servietsky."
Interestingly, Wild Belle also contributed vocals to “Be Together,” the lead-in single from Peace Is The Mission, the 2015 album of Diplo's Major Lazer project. In the case of “Call Him The Devil,” however, her sultry vocals are met with the thunderous sort of bass wobbles that define Skrillex’s solo releases.
Be that as it may, the song could still find itself on the upcoming effort's tracklist when you consider the collaborative nature of the Major Lazer project. Further inspection reveals that Skrillex and Diplo have been playing the track out live for at least a year, after all.
Music Is The Weapon is still expected to come out sometime in early 2017, if Diplo's recent comments are any indicator. In the meantime, listen to the rumored Skrillex track, "Call Him The Devil" featuring Wild Belle, and tell us what you think of it in the comments section.
