Former Nine Inch Nails (NIN) keyboardist and father of three James Woolley has reportedly died at the age of 50. His ex-wife, Kate Van Buren, broke the news of his passing in a post to her Facebook page, but has not disclosed a cause of death at this time.
Woolley was a member of NIN through much of the Trent Reznor-founded industrial rock band's early '90s heyday, having helped record their 1991 album, The Downward Spiral. He parted ways with Reznor and company in 1994.
While Woolley's cause of death has not been made public, he had apparently suffered from neck and spine injuries in recent years. A passage of Van Buren's post reads:
"Though our marriage ended, James always stayed close to his children. He loved being a father. Because of significant neck and spine injuries, he wasn’t capable of doing a lot of physical activities with them, but he loved sitting down to paint, or teach piano, or just look at nature. He passed his amazing musical and artistic talents to all three children."
We at Magnetic Magazine express our condolences to the family and friends of James Woolley's at this time.
