Gene Wilder passed away on Sunday evening at the age of 83, and today's outpouring has shown that his influence had spread wider than film alone. In the spheres of electronic music, anyways, Tommie Sunshine, Bassnectar, Ilan Bluestone and Sasha Grey are among the artists who have already mourned the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory actor on social media.

Aside from the aforementioned role, Wilder also acted in three Mel Brooks films in addition to playing a part alongside Richard Pryor in Stir Crazy. The cause of his death has been recorded as complications arising from Alzheimers disease.
