Denver's no stranger to world-class electronic music, but one of Colorado's more out-of-the-way cities is about to be graced with its fair share as well. The inaugural edition of Vertex Festival takes place this weekend in the mountain town of Buena Vista, Colorado, and its lineup certainly competes with those of its more metropolitan counterparts.
Dance music mainstays like Duke Dumont and Seven Lions are counterbalanced atop the lineup by artists of other genres - like The Revivalists and Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, to name a couple. Most importantly, though, instead of a collection of names interchangeable with that of any other festival, Vertex's organizers have opted to shine the spotlight on more eclectic musicians like RÜFÜS DU SOL, Golf Clap and Big Wild as well.
The event is a joint endeavor between Electric Forest promoter Madison House Presents and the Rocky Mountain division of AEG Live. "Vertex’s vision is inspired by its majestic high elevation home where sky meets peaks, peaks meet valleys, and valleys meet rivers," reads a passage on the event website.
Speaking of which, the event will take place from Friday, August 5th to Sunday, August 7th on a working ranch known as Cottonwood Meadows that sits roughly a mile away from downtown Buena Vista. If you're already planning to attend, look through the official set times below.
