Stateside admirers of Aphex Twin A.K.A. Richard James have new cause for celebration. The notoriously cryptic DJ/producer has been confirmed for his first US performance in eight years - at Houston's Day for Night festival, which takes place from December 17th-18th.
James has not performed in the US since his set at the 2008 edition of Indio, California festival Coachella. One of Day for Night's organizers, Omar Afra, confirmed to Billboard that he would be featured on the lineup for the "immersive art and music festival," commenting, “We can indeed confirm Aphex Twin is performing at Day for Night. This is the second moon landing for Houston.”
As of this writing, it's still unclear which day of the festival Aphex Twin will play. It's not in his character to make any sort of official statements about matters like these, either, so anyone hoping to see him perform will surely have to wait on another announcement from Day for Night's organizers.
