Is London's nightlife scene slowly collapsing?

Earlier this week the global nightlife community took a huge hit, with the Islington Council revoking the license of one of London's most prominent clubs: Fabric. Now, West London nightclub MODE has also announced that their license is also under review.

On September 8th, MODE's ownership posted the following statement to the club's Facebook page:

Hi guys, Unfortunately the licence is being reviewed by Kensington & Chelsea Council on Monday 12th September 2016 at midday. We are hoping to stay open but the Metropolitan Police are seeking revocation of the licence. We are going to do our best for our staff and customers #saveourclubs

A Love Letter for Fabric

MODE had opened up relatively recently, taking up a lease in Notting Hill in 2014. The interior features a sculpture of a mutant spitfire airplane and a floor-to-ceiling pipe organ that has been re-modeled as a flame thrower. The venue was also equipped with a fine-tuned VOID sound system.

Stay tuned for more news to come about MODE, and London nightlife as a whole.
