One of the more interesting personality dynamics in electronic music is the relationship between Skrillex and deadmau5, and the involvement of Marshmello in the dialogue has only added another layer of dimension to it. Marshmello and deadmau5 had recently engaged each other in predictably below-the-belt Twitter banter, and almost half a year later Skrillex has gone on the record to contribute his own thoughts on the exchange.

“The only time I really got upset [with deadmau5] was when he started taking stabs at Marshmello, acting like such a fucking bully,” Skrillex commented in an an interview with Complex“Marshmello is this young kid who looks up to deadmau5, and the first tweet he gets from deadmau5 is talking shit about him. That’s when I had to stand up and be like, ‘Stop being a fucking bully to people.’”

This isn't the first time Skrillex has aired his grievances with deadmau5' unsavory attitude; after deadmau5 had criticized him for collaborating with Justin Bieber in 2015, Skrillex had fired off a volley of tweets criticizing the progressive house mastermind's abrasive disposition. It bears mention, however, that Skrillex owes much of his early success to deadmau5, as the latter artist offered support during the former's early career.

Whether deadmau5 responds tomorrow, next week, or several months from now, chances are his beef with Skrillex won't be squashed anytime soon. In the meantime, fans can look forward to his upcoming studio-length album, which is due out next month.
