We live in some interesting times, and like all unique periods of time throughout history, ours has it’s own unique qualities. For instance, never before has humanity been so bombarded with information while simultaneously gaining access to the tools and just about everything else we need to thrive.

These are also dangerous times times that require a higher level of presence, as well as discrimination. With that danger comes the opportunity to live a life you've always longed for, or at least start making the steps toward what feels like movement in the right direction - that is, if you don't get caught in any number of vicious cycles which keep you running in circles. Even if you are, the opportunity to break free is still available right here, right now.

It starts with freeing yourself just enough - creating just enough space to ask yourself “What do I really want?” - and if you’re doing exactly what you want to be doing, hats off to you. Fantastic. You will be addressed later. For the rest of us, don’t worry, reality is always offering us opportunities to know ourselves.

Very simply put, something happened in society and out of necessity (and a desire to reconnect to ourselves, to heal or remember what life feels like again) experiences like adult summer camps have emerged with a very specific, yet broad-reaching vision. And don’t fool yourself - there is a need for this. Here’s why.

You get the same camaraderie, community, euphoria and connection out of a place like Soul Camp as you do at a rave, nightclub, or festival - but the difference is Soul Camp has ingredients for the necessary work you have to do internally as well as externally, which makes the whole thing more sustainable. We've had the pleasure of attending Soul Camp East, Gina as a camper, and Tim as a teacher, two years in a row. It’s in alignment with what we do with The Divine Movement, and this type of consciousness is popping up because it’s what the world needs and is longing for.

One can easily get lost in the busyness of our lives without having the self-awareness cultivated at a place like Soul Camp, providing space for us to tune out while at the same time tune in. A scary prospect for most of our generation, Soul Camp has a predominantly cell phone/computer/social media-free zone, and strangely enough, you don’t miss these contemporary luxuries.

Camp!

Camp!

Soul Camp is four to five days of adult sleepaway camp (yes, just like you remember from childhood, even with the smuggled in taffy in your bunk, color war, and talent show) filled with a diverse group of healers, teachers, artists, yogis, musicians, visionaries, scientists, angel channelers and holistic health practitioners. Set against the backdrop of Camp Echo Lake in Warrensburg New York or Wonder Valley Resort in Sanger, California, each day is set up in a choose-your-own-adventure style in which you can pick activities that range from stand-up paddleboard yoga to make your own dream catcher - and how can we forget make your life a musical? Don’t worry if you're not the active type or just tired one day, though; you can enjoy peace and serenity by the water, listen to a soul-versation, or even get some acupuncture or a massage.

Profound experiences are at every corner and make you come alive. Tibetan sound bowl healing with Kathy Hamer, for example, will take you on a sonic spiritual journey unlike any other - or Laurel Bleadon Maffei’s angel circle gives you exactly the answer you didn't even know you were looking for.

...But listen, we don’t want to give too much away because we want you to truly feel this new brand of life-changing summer camp for yourself.

And if you’re already doing exactly what you want to be doing with your life, then these camps can act as a vehicle to come together in a magical way, supporting your journey by allowing something new and greater than the sum of its parts to be born. There is a unique brand of consciousness being cultivated in these spaces, and one which we enjoy participating in as it continues to unfold and transform everything in its path.

The next installment of Soul Camp will take place at Wonder Valley in Sanger, California from October 25th-29th. To purchase tickets or find more information, visit the Soul Camp website.
