"Hybrid Trap" is hands down one of the most trending styles of trap that has evolved in the past year. So much so, bass-heavy acts are starting to get back into this beloved variation of the better known "festival trap."

Icon Collective graduate, LUMBERJVCK takes a swing at hybrid trap with his newest release. This has a very middle eastern swag to then it switches perfectly into a beautiful melody and catchy drop.

I wanted to see what LUMBERJVCK has to say about this new genre, 2017, and who to watch out for in this year.

What are your goals for 2017? What's changing and how are you evolving as an artist?

In 2017 I really want to step up my music production and come out with some seriously next level releases. This year is also a year for me to expand upon other genres that are not bass music. I have a very wide production range and I want my fan base to see I can make anything and everything. Moving forward into 2017 I'm going to unveil a few exciting things about my live show as well. It should be a big year!

With this new release, what swayed you to go more hybrid as opposed to the bass heavy  LUMBERJVCK your most known for?

Who are some artists for 2017 that are on your radar? Who and why?

Herobust is insane right now. I don't know how he does it. I just heard a sneak preview of his next EP and it blew me away. Also I highly respect that he does all of his own vocals... something you will be seeing from me more in 2017

Minesweepa is also on my radar at the moment. His unreleased stuff is some of the most original bass music I have heard in my career. Really excited to see where his sound goes in the next few months.

Somnium Sound is one of my favorite artists to play at a show right now because his tracks are explosive. He really needs more love and is actively being slept on but in due time things will change. I play at least 5 of his tunes per set and they always go off. They are like my severely weapons.
