New Double Album From M83—Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. The Blogosphere Just Lit Up

M83 (aka Anthony Gonzalez) will release the highly anticipated (we’re amped for it), double album Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming on October 18, 2011. When news broke of the album, along with the free song download “Midnight City,” the indie blogosphere lit up and M83 was an instant worldwide twitter trend. Not bad for a genre that began in the margins of electronic based tunes. The first single “Midnight City” is a lovesick dream, a journey through a place of both beauty and sadness.

Produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Beck, NIN, The Mars Volta, Goldfrapp), with contributions from Brad Laner, Saturdays=Youth vocalist Morgan Kibby, and guest vocalist Zola Jesus, “Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming “ pushes the lyrical range of Gonzalez, who has become the Jay Z of dreampop. “I think it is a reflection of my 30 years of being a human being,” he says. “It’s a retrospective of myself.”

M83 will also begin a North American Fall tour on October 15, 2011. The tour will be M83’s first live shows in over two years. They sell out very quickly, so be on the lookout.
