Electric Zoo 2011: New York’s Electronic Music Festival

I love California and all, but Made Event (the folks behind Electric Zoo), have me wanting to get my ass out to New York City over Labor Day weekend. Randall’s Island Park in New York City to be exact.Look at this flyer—that’s one serious bill. Plus it has been expanded, it’s now a 3-day festival with pretty much the world’s biggest electronic music acts spread out over Labor Day weekend. Everything from techno, trance, house, dubstep, electro, indie dance… Over 100 acts already announced spread out across four stages. Compared to last year, the Main Stage will have an expanded dancefloor area, while the Hilltop Arena, Sunday School Grove and Red Bull Riverside will all reside on the waterfront, each with fantastic views of the Manhattan skyline.

If you’re the VIP type, of course there will be a lounge. And we’re told it’ll be full of things like plush furniture, artisanal custom cocktails, premium food, including grub from a selection of NYC's food trucks (which, btw, have nothing on California food trucks! Just saying...), even face & body painting if that’s your thing. The fact that VIP tickets score also score you a ferry ride—with scenic views of the NYC skyline—that lead right up to the festival gates makes VIP treatment pretty appealing. BTW, last year sold out, so if you’re having any doubts don’t sleep. Want to score a free pair of tickets? We're giving away a pair via the Magnetic Facebook page.
