The new single is a good listen and all (it’s about as big and summer and dancefloor as you can get), but we really wanted to show you this video. We love the concept behind it. Tiësto partnered with Sandisk (you know, the manufacturer of flash memory cards) to create a crowd-sourced music video using mobile phone footage from concert audiences around the world. Basically, the fans that attended Tiësto concerts recorded their experience using mobile phones and then uploaded their footage. Tiësto then selected his favorite fan-generated clips and used them in this official music video you see below. The end result? The world’s first music video made entirely by fans with their mobile phones. The video is set to Dim Mak’s AutoErotique remix, a rave-roc flavor treatment with a little bit filthier of an approach to the track.
Do you like the OG or remix more? If you feel like you could turnout a better version, Tiësto’s Musical Freedom imprint is hosting a “Work Hard, Play Hard” remix contest. All you have to do is grab the stems from Beatport or Tiësto University and put your own twist on the track. After you create your remix, upload it to Tiësto’s Facebook page and stay tuned. The top finalists will be picked on August 22nd. If you have no skills in the production department, just be a fan and vote for your favorite. "Fan Favorites" will receive Tiësto merchandise packages, pre-paid Beatport cards and more. Tiësto will then select the grand prize winner from all the entrants and that winner will have their remix released on Musical Freedom along with a few other surprises to be announced! Nothing to complain about there. BTW, here are the dates for his College Invasion Tour, which kicks off in September.
