We imagine that the last few years have treated Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel pretty damn good. The bulk of 2010 was spent on the road with LCD and Chromeo. Not a bad look at all. In April of this year they released their debut LP via DFA and the blogosphere gave them a big bear hug. I still find myself talking about (promoting?) their track “Some Children” featuring Michael McDonald every now and then. The video is pretty damn awesome. They also supported Cut Copy while they bounced around the US this past spring.
And now they are getting ready to hit the road again for their first ever headline tour in the US. Joining them is Jessica 6, Midnight Magic and Eli Escobar on various dates. It all kicks off right before Halloween with an already sold-out show at Bowery Ballroom. Before that happens, tho, look for the new Holy Ghost! single “Hold My Breath” which was co-written with Austrian DJ buddy Wolfram on October 17.
Of course they have a music video to accompany said song and here it is. It’s another collaboration with director and close friend Ben Fries and takes an intimate look into the lives of Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel—that would be Holy Ghost! to you and I. So yea, we’d say that the last few years have treated them right.
