Men On Tour With CSS Plus Split 7” Vinyl Collaboration

Yet another reason to look forward to the upcoming tour with Brazil’s dance-punk band CSS. You can read our review of the CSS album here—it’s a good one. And if you haven't heard it, you can download the Dillon Francis remix of CSS's "Hits Me Like A Rock" hereMen is a relatively new project of Le Tigre’s JD Samson and Ladybug Transistor’s Michael O’Neill along with friends Johanna Fateman and artist Emily Roysdon contributing as writers, consultants and producers. Think of them as part band part art/performance collective covering topics like wartime economies, sexual compromise, the demand for liberties and other things near and dear to the LGBT community. It’s all set against a high-energy stage show that we’ve only heard rumors of. Considering the world is all Gaga at the moment, we imagine it’s going to be a party. Perhaps we’ll see you there.

In honor of the tour, the bands swapped remixes and collaborated to make a split 7” vinyl of never heard tracks. We like that. On one side is CSS’s Desperately Seeking Julia Cafritz rework of Men’s “Rip Off” and the other side is the Men Meets Grrl Remix remix of CSS’s “City Grrl.” Besides trading the remixes, each band made the artwork for their respective vinyl sides. The split 7" vinyl is limited to 1000 copies and for sale on tour only.

Men released their debut album Talk About Body through Iamsound Records on February 1st, 2011. You pick it up digitally here. And here’s some videos for your enjoyment.
