Porter Robinson To Release Spitfire EP On Skrillex's Owsla

I have a feeling Porter Robinson was teaching himself how to produce while the other kids in school were cracking the books. Not sure how else to explain the fact that he’s only 19 and has shared a global stage alongside Tiësto, Deadmau5, Benny Benassi, Afrojack, Moby, A-Trak, Dada Life, gets props from an equally impressive list of DJs and producers and now Skrillex, the other EDM wunderkind, is going to release his debut EP “Spitfire” via his newly formed Owsla imprint. Look for the 11-track EP (that is extended, right) on September 13th via Beatport with remixes from Knife Party, Downlink, SkisM, Kill The Noise and Mikkas.

Here are a few things from his Sound Cloud page that caught our ear—kid has a knack for blending genres and runs everything through one helluva catchy filter. It’s been a year or since “Say My Name” came out… that was one memorable tune and a hard one to follow up.

Hes fresh out of high school and one of the most incredible songwriters in EDM -Skrillex

EDM prodigy? I’d say up in the air at this point, but we definitely think big things are coming. In conjunction with the release, Porter has just announced his "Spitfire" Tour—approximately 50 dates covering the United States, Canada and Mexico, including 3 weeks as direct support for Tiësto on his Club Life College Invasion Tour. A Tiësto bump is never a bad thing...
