deadmau5 Six Night Stint

Five years ago if I were to tell you that deadmau5 had beaten Rage Against the Machine’s record of playing five consecutive nights at the storied Roseland Ballroom in New York City, you probably would have said, “who the hell...dead who?” That record had been held since the summer of 1996 and it was recently broken this summer during deadmau5’s “Meowingtons Hax” tour with six consecutive nights—five of the six shows were sold out. Of course, he was presented with a plaque, he’d probably rather have scored a PS3, I know I would, or at least a medal or trophy. C’mon Live Nation.

deadmau5 is going to need a dedicated wall to house his plaque after this week because he was also presented with a Gold Status plaque from the wonderful people at the RIAA for the single “Ghosts N Stuff” from 2009’s For Lack of a Better Name. Gold status commemorates 500,000 sales of a single. Damn son.

deadmau5 is officially kicking off his Meowingtons Hax North American tour with 3 consecutive days at the House of Blues in Boston. He has a plaque for 5 sellouts in NYC, how about one for three sellouts in Boston? He will continue his journey to headline his first baseball stadium show at PETCO Park in San Diego on October 28 with special guest Avicii. That should be an epic night.
