Korn x Skrillex x Kill The Noise Equals “Narcissistic Cannibal”

It’s hard to believe that KoRn, the finest rock band of the ‘90s, has teamed up with the hottest dubstep producers / artists for their 10th studio album The Path of Totality. It’s set for release December 6 via Roadrunner Records. Then again, at this years Coachella, Skrillex and KoRn’s front man Jonathan Davis debut this summer’s rock anthem “Get Up!” amongst a crowd of dubstep babies in Coachella’s dance tent, which started the buzz. The end results of the unexpected combination, over 150,000 downloads of “Get Up!” two million plus views of the lyric video on YouTube and the track landing a spot in the Top 10 Rock Radio Hits this summer, it’s no surprise after all. It’s clear dubstep combined with metal creates musical magic. To be quite honest, I wasn’t a fan of the track “Get Up!” and as a KoRn fan the last thing I would expect is an experimental album featuring dubstep but that all changed this morning. While lurking through the music blog, Silence No Good, I stumbled upon a new track off KoRn’s upcoming album titled “Narcissistic Cannibal,” which features Skrillex and Kill the Noise. The track is a banger! First, I tip my hat off to the guys of KoRn for diving into a new territory of music although I was skeptical at first and I’m grateful KoRn didn’t neglect their original sound. Secondly, Skrillex and Kill the Noise are animals on this track. It works! It’s fresh material that music lovers wouldn’t expect. Despite the fact, I’m 20, I started listening to KoRn when “Freak on a Leash” played on television networks at 7 in the morning. As a fan of KoRn, Skrillex, and Kill the Noise, I can’t wait for the day KoRn hits up Los Angeles on tour. Speaking of which, starting in November, KoRn will kick off their first leg of their North American tour “The Path of Totality” with dubstep artists Datsik, Downlink and Dutch Dub rockers Dope D.O.D. Listen to the track below and let me know what you think.
