Portishead Team Up With XL Recordings To Release “Chase The Tear”

The influential Bristol, England based '90s group, Portishead is back with their new single, “Chase the Tear.” Last night for the first time in 13 years, Portishead performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The group is teaming up with XL Recordings, the home of Adele, M.I.A , Vampire Weekend, and The xx, to release their new single on a limited edition 12’’ vinyl to fans exclusively October, 8th (this Saturday) at the XL Recordings table at the Brooklyn Indie label market in New York City. The first 200 copies of the vinyl will be autographed by the group and the vinyl will feature a version of the track by Toronto’s Doldrums. If the following details weren’t enough to grab your attention, all proceeds will go to Amnesty International. Fans you’re purchasing legit music and contributing to a great foundation. For those who don’t live in the busy city, “Chase the Tear” will be released worldwide November 14, which will include a download code for the MP3 version and the vinyl will be available for purchase at Portishead’s live shows. Speaking of live shows, Portishead is currently touring the States and if you haven’t heard about this band you should definitely look them up. Their sound is indescribable but it’s beautiful to say the least.
