Magnetic pal, Dennis Kane just put up a new podcast with the esteemed Tiago Miranda (weekly resident at Club Lux) from Lisbon, Portugal. As alwaysit’s quality music—sans filler. Think left of center adult sounds. Tiago was in NYC recently for some gigs and stopped by the Kane studios to record a podcast, hang and have some liquid refreshments. Tiago (aliases include: I-Boat Captain, Sea Power & Change, Spare The Cradle, Tnt Subhead) has a laid back intensity that is reflected in the expansive and inquisitive nature of his sets. Raised on good music in his home, turned on to drumming by his older brother, he came to DJing via live music. He has been at it for close to twenty years, and in the last decade added production work to his resume. Check his production and remix work on labels like DFA, Jolly Jams, Italians Do It Better, Gomma and Hands of Time. Speaking of quality labels, Kane's Disques Sinthomme Ghost Town imprint recently recently "Sad Caberet," a 12-inch from Apollo Heights. Remixes come from Phil Mison and Max Essa. You can pick it up via Juno here. And do check the Ghost Town discography here.
BTW, Tiago recently released Better To Die Of Love Than To Love Without Regret under his Spare The Cradle moniker. It’s a bunch of edits he made between 2003 and 2005 that never out till now. And they’ll never be released on vinyl or in CD. Support and download it here.
