Skrillex And The Grammys—Oh My

The Skrillex phenomenon is palpable. I didn’t doubt it before, but this pretty much cements the fact that guy is an EDM anomaly. No matter what side of the hater fence you’re on, five Grammy nominations is a great triumph. How bummed is deadmau5. One of those five nods include “Best New Artist” category. Not within the electronic music umbrella where dance music usually sits—he’s right alongside The Band Perry, Bon Iver, J. Cole and Nicki Minaj. Talk about an odd gaggle of artists. 2011 isn’t the year of the Rabbit, it’s the year of Skrillex. Wow sums it up nicely.

The Band Perry
