deadmau5 Day in Las Vegas

I’m sure when Joel Zimmerman catches his breath and takes a look back at everything he achieved in 2011 (nominated for three Grammy Awards for one!) there’s probably not much guy can complain about. And, given the fact that Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed yesterday “deadmau5 Day” in the city of Las Vegas, 2012 is definitely shaping up to be a monster of a year as well.

Of course being “deadmau5 Day,” Joel was in Vegas yesterday to not only celebrate that fact, but also celebrate his birthday (thousands of clubgoers serenaded him with “Happy Birthday”) and the launch of his exclusive 2012 residency with Wynn Las Vegas at XS nightclub. Zimmerman was presented with a five-tier cake as twenty cocktail servers marched on stage. Each tier had an iconic theme from the residency announcement where deadmau5 attempted several jobs around Wynn Resorts, including lifeguard and golf caddie. We’d say he’s best suited performing at XS. If you missed the YouTube video, check it out. Zimmerman is pretty funny like that.
