Ok, so I am a sucker for people who can balance their talents with a confident sense of self. And when I found Halcyon Heart, and saw that her music was partially described as “popsicles...” well, let's just say major points scored. I mean, a serious artist who doesn't take herself so seriously that she loses touch is always a good thing, right?
Then comes the million-dollar question...would the music hold up? Pop music in whole or in part can be deliciously sweet or taste like pure-bad-for-you-chemical-harshness as we all know.
Consensus? This was great. This music is described as folk/rock/indie/punk/electronica and retro. It delivers as such. So who or what is Halcyon Heart? The cool person behind all of this flavor is a singer/songwriter/musician and DJ from London. In addition to giving you and me cool new music to listen to, she is a multi-genre artist worth looking into.
Having popsicles in the freezer in any season just makes life that much better.
