Punks Jump Up “Get Down” (Kitsune)

London based Punks Jump Up are starting off 2012 in a big(room) way with their “Get Down” remix EP slated for a February release on Kitsune. From their own remix to Deadstock 33’s (Justin Robertson) spacey-er take, each of the six tracks start off fast and are meant to be played loud.

The stand out tracks are their own Special Cccrash Mix, which pulls heavily from Prince’s “Erotic City” and Trax Records Yello influences. It is a bass heavy, bouncy club track that holds its own from start to finish, with a nice break about halfway through (you can’t miss the siren). The French-Italo duo Jbag come in on the second cut and do a nice job bringing in synthy pianos and some vocal chops/effects that together might just give you the confidence to grab the girl who you’ve been lurking on Facebook and take her to the dancefloor. Alex Gopher’s mix goes even further and borderlines rave big room big. Yeah, like that big.
