Attack Of The Genres—Bassnectar Is At It Again

If you were so kind as to read my mixtape roundup, you may be thinking to yourself: “Gee, this seems like a mixtape so why isn’t it included with the roundup?” Well to answer your question, it wasn’t included because the genre was house music. With Bassnectar’s latest tape he attacks numerous genres throughout the 30-minute tape. He’s all over the board, from glitch to dubstep and drum & bass to mash-up drumstep. Bassnectar goes hard from start to finish in what seems like a mixtape that may last for an hour or so, but he somehow smashes it all together in some type of synchrony that doesn’t make it seem like any track is really out of place... All you have to do is like his fan page on Facebook and voila, the magic is yours.

Additionally, Lorin Ashton, better known by his alias Bassnectar, is fresh off a stellar year of touring in 2011. Ashton sold out every show in 2011 to put him in sole possession of any EDM producer to accomplish that feat in the calendar year. To put that all in perspective he’s released a video recapping his success in 2011 and hopefully convincing you to check him out in 2012. Be sure to get your tickets soon for the Vava Voom tour as they are selling like wild fire.
