Storm Queen “Look Right Through” Part 1 (Defected Records)

It’s hard to believe that the first Storm Queen record came out in 2010. That’s basically like yesterday, yet the Morgan Geist x Damon C. Scott moniker has already seemed to achieve a timeless stamp from many in the disco house scene. We’ve loving that Mr. Geist is bringing the project back this year, which will surely deliver more modern disco classics for the dancefloor. First up is a two-part release with some pretty impressive names signed on.

Part one kicks off with jumbo jet remixers Aeroplane, adding their touch and creating a nu-disco house party starter. Dimitri from Paris is on the second cut, keeping the disco vibe, but adding a quality ‘90s house energy with the pianos. Jamie Jones brings an entirely different take, going in a darker, bass-heavy direction sprinkled with acid. All remixes feature the original gutbucket vocals by Damon C. Scott.

Part one was release yesterday via Defected Records and you can pick it up on Beatport here. Look for Part 2 at the end of the month with remixes from MK and the “so hot right now” Art Department.
