The Utah Saints Tap A New Crop Of Producers To Rework A Classic

Legendary dance pioneers The Utah Saints are back on the international radar with a fresh rework of their classic single “What Can You Do For Me.” The original version was produced back in 1991 (like at the beginning of it all) on a 1MB computer and features industrial style beats, soulful vocals and unique, chopped up vocal snippets. Needless to say, technology has vastly improved since then and a new crop of producers have taken this classic tune in totally new directions. British drum and bass producers Drumsound and Bassline Smith picked up the tempo and energy level with their re-imagining and a multitude of remixers including Herve, Ill Blu, 7th Heaven, Tantrum Desire, Felix Leiter and Mark Maitland made the track their own. Released on Ministry of Sound Records yesterday, this track is sure to take over dancefloors all over the globe. Give a listen to a few of the remixes below and if it gets you going… you can pick up the release on the Ministry of Sound website here.
