Press Blackout Fail. Speculations Made—New Daft Punk Album!

Did I hear that right, Guardian? Muppets make music with the sounds of Daft Punk, say what?  Well not quite the Muppets, but the Academy Award winning songwriter (Paul Williams) who was responsible for Kermit the Frog’s solo, "Rainbow Connection" and countless other songs including, “A Star is Born,” written for Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. So now, we have that out of the way.  Speculations have been made that Daft Punk is set to release a follow-up album to their TRON Legacy soundtrack by early June 2012. Williams admits to Hollywood Reporter at SXSW, that he should not have released the information.  “They want a press blackout on the album until it’s out,” he said. But, that did not stop the excited Williams from spilling the beans.

Williams is not the only one that Daft Punk has been in touch with, Chic’s Nile Rodgers revealed on his blog last month that the French duo was at his house talking about making some music together.  This should be an interesting album and if the year continues to go “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger,” the new album will be here before we know it.  We all hope that Daft Punk brings it just “One More Time.”
