A new monthly is debuting Thursday night at downtown's biggest club, Exchange. The owners there have tapped a grip of up-and-coming local crews and DJs to fill the three rooms at the cavernous club. The main room with its custom-installed Funktion One system will be hosting Brian Matrix of Heartfelt Sounds (you may have seen him at Avalon), LA stalwarts Thee Mike B and Metric (who currently have a residency at Dim Mak), Tracer and newly minted Shakedown resident La Muerte of the Newestra Crew. It promises to be quite the eclectic mix of tunes, from electro to nu-disco and everything in between judging by the collection of talent.
In the Rockefeller Room, Long Beach's Electric Grime crew and LA's Gold Line crew are co-hosting, bringing the underground techno and tech-house flavor for those that want a break from the big room vibe for a little more nuance. And the lounge downstairs will feature some disco sounds courtesy of the Gotta Dance Dirty crew and a few others.
And like any party nowadays contending with big-budget festival memories in the minds of most clubgoers, there will be live streaming and a massive neon art installation gracing the main room to give it a little more visual pizazz.
The flyer has all the details. Hit up the Exchange website to RSVP for free entry before 11 pm, $5 between 11 and 12 and $10 after midnight.
