Edition one of the Electric Daisy Carnival New York era will take place this upcoming weekend, May 18-20. This is the first time ever Insomniac events is bringing its famed EDC party to the tri-state area, in a joint partnership with Pacha New York. The summer kick-off party for metropolitan area is being held at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Some of the biggest names in EDM will play across the festival’s four stages, including, Armin Van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Afrojack, Erick Morillo, Dirty South, Chuckie and many more.
I’ve found that no matter how hard people try to create the “perfect schedule” for these types of events that people always simply end up missing something ‘epic’ at one of the other tents. That’s just the way festivals are and unfortunately you have to accept it. Ironically, you have all of the top names in the industry available for your picking and yet there are too many big names where you are bound to miss something. You just need to create your schedule as fitting for you as possible, considering this event comes around just once a year. Make sure you check off all of your top DJ’s and work from there to create the schedule. Also, don’t be afraid to forfeit up seeing someone you have seen already or know you can see in the future. Choose wisely my friends…
On Friday, Fedde Le Grand, Cosmic Gate, and company will control KinetcFIELD amongst others. Boris, Oscar G, and Sleepy& Boo are just a few names to mention rocking the NeonGARDEN stage. The CircuitGROUNDS will be home to Pendulum (DJ Set), Shy FX, TC, AC Slater, and a few other DJ’s to kick off the festival.
On Saturday, Carl Cox, who is kicking of his North American tour, will oversee the NeonGARDEN stage with help from John Digweed, Danny Tenaglia, Seth Troxler, and Cassy, among others. KineticFIELD will be dominated powerhouses, such as, Calvin Harris, Avicii, EDX, Michael Woods, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Alesso. Fans will also have the option to see Steve Angello, Thomas Gold, An21 & Max V, and Tim Mason find fortress and do their thing thang at the CosmicMEADOWS stage. The CircuitGROUNDS will also be an option for those in attendance, which will be home to ATB, Gareth Emery, Jack O’Callagan, and many more for the day.
The highlights for the Sunday session at the NeonGARDEN stage include Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice, Dubfire, and Victor Calderone. R3hab, Bobby Burns, Bassjackers, and others will party at the CircuitGROUNDS Stage. All at the same time, ravers can catch Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Chuckie, Manufactured Superstars, and Bassnectar, and other top name DJ’s close out the festival at the KineticFIELD stage.
As expected, in classic EDC manner, there will also be an infinite array of theatrical performances, interactive art displays and amusement rides scattered across the festival grounds throughout the weekend. Electric Daisy Carnival guests will have the opportunity to get on board the high-flying, scream supplying, full-size carnival rides on site. There will be slides, swings, merry-go-rounds and many other things. All rides are free with festival tickets and they'll operate all day & night for the party people. EDC views itself more than just a concert, but a fully immersive sensory experience built for, with and by the fans. It is encouraged that all partake in the full EDC experience by attending all three days.
Still Need Tickets:
General admission tickets for Saturday, May 19 have sold out! But general admission tickets for Friday, May 18 and Sunday, May 20 are still available. Additionally, 3-day GA and VIP passes are still available for sale.
Who says the party needs to end at midnight? NYC is definitely going to popping all weekend long, simply because the number of DJ’s in the area and the significance of the weekend. The official after parties for EDC will be held at Pacha with three nights of heavy surprises from the Pacha NY family. Pacha has yet to announce any of the performers names for any of the after parties but I can imagine with the collaboration of both, Pacha NY and Insomniac Events, the lineups will most likely be mind blowing once the parties are announced.
