At first thought you would think Beardyman would be a purveyor of well groomed and heavy facial hair, but the reality is so far from what his name initially conjures up. Darren Foreman is an absolute beatboxing extraordinaire, his ability to replicate almost any sound on earth with perfection is something that needs to be heard rather then read. Check this.
His uncanny knack for making legitimate music with nothing but his teeth, tongue and tonsils and some looping gear has brought him all over the world, from a performance of his being shown on the Ellen DeGeneres show to his performance at Sonar, and being part of the first ever Youtube concert next to Katy Perry, there is little ground this Londoner hasn’t covered in his musical odyssey.
Don’t worry though he hasn’t forgot about us lot back in London, which is why the BBC styled “King of Sound and Ruler of Beats” is going to be headlining KOKO on the 22 September, so if you’re up for seeing something totally out there I suggest you get your tickets now to avoid disappointment, it’s going to be a cracker!
Have you seen this video of Doorly's remix of "Vampire Skank" by Beardyman?
I like dubstep, wub wub wub wub wub, wub wub wub wub wub. No puppets were harmed in the making of the video...
And here's him doing this thing for about an hour. Stay with it to hear Beardyman rock a cover of “Windowlicker” by Aphex Twin at the 23 minute mark. So good.
