Noisy Jelly: Part Chemistry Set, Part Musical Instrument

I came across this experiment slash prototype on Yatzer.  It’s a collaboration between Arduino and Max/Msp by Raphaël Pluvinage and Marianne Cauvard at L'Ensci Les Ateliers during a semester course. It’s basically a chemistry set where jelly can be shaped using mere water and a few grams of agar powder. The audio signal is affected by distance, strength of touch and contact.

I’m not sure about you, but I could totally see a Noisy Jelly garden at the next Electric Daisy Carnival that lets you run around and activate sounds by touching the objects.
