EDM Culture This Weekend: So Cal Merrymaking, Labor Day Style

Tick tock, damn the time drags before holiday weekends like this. There’s so many freaking options for an EDM culture junkie it can make a person bonkers. If you’re still thinking of something to do, below are a gaggle of top shelf events up and down the So Cal coast. If you fancy yourself merrymaker, nightlife up and down the So Cal coast is always throbbing with nocturnal treasures and this weekend is even crazier. House music all night long—or what ever genre of electronic music that gets you off, there’s something of all flavors. Thursday August 30:

Zomboy & Smash Gordon @ Voyeur: Double headlining talent at Voyeur this coming Thursday. Zomboy and Smash Gordon are known for the heavy bass lines and a great time. Get into the night for FREE. RSVP here.


Friday August 31:

Eats Everything @ Voyeur: The second free show provided by LED this weekend has headlining talent, Eats Everything. No Cover! before 10:30 and I promise you there will be a line. Kick off Labor Day weekend with LED in SD.


Saturday September 1:

Special guest (well not if you recognize the person in the pix) and Bobby Burns @ Wavehouse: Bobby Burns is opening up Wavehouse this Sunday for a “Special Guest.” The talent is being provided by Jacked/Wall Recordings, who is owned by Afrojack. If you plan to attend, you should all wear polka dots….Grab Tickets for $40


Tramps Like Us Day 1: Biggest Labor Day lineup of California rests in San Diego. LED kicks off first time party, “Tramps Like Us” with a monstrous line up.  Flux Pavilion, Rusko, Moby, Datsik, Wolfgang Gartner, Jack Beats and more! Tickets are still available for $50 a day or $80 for the weekend.


Special Saturday Intervention with Sidney Sampson: The legendary DJ Sidney Sampson makes LDW appearance at a special Saturday Intervention session.  Tickets are available for $25 for a little bit longer and will bounce up to $30 soon. Grab them here!

Tramps Like Us Day2: The EDM culture merrymaking continues...

Felix Cartel presented by LED @ Wavehouse: Felix Cartel recently released his new album “Different Faces” on iTunes. Big electronic DJ flies in from Canada to celebrate LDW with us at one of the finest outdoor clubs in the country. Tickets are $15 at an ‘Early Bird Discount’ price.


Intervention Sundays with Martin Solveig @ Hard Rock Hotel: You can come just say ‘Hello’ with Martin Solveig this Sunday at Hard Rock Hotel’s Intervention. Presale has already sold out for $15 and general admission has a high sellout risk at $20. Grab tix here!


No Hostages Tour featuring Sluggo, J. Rabbit and Getter @ McFadden’s San Diego: The huge dubstep “No Hostages Tour” comes into San Diego for LDW. Dubstep DJs Sluggo, J. Rabbit, & Getter will be headlining the tour. Tickets are cheap $10!

Tuesday August 27:

Bingo Players @ Greystone Manor: The club known for looking like the inside to a mansion will be hosting one of the hottest DJs this Tuesday. The duo known as the Bingo Players will be kicking off an early LDW celebration at Greystone. Grab a download of their EDC Las Vegas set featured awhile back. Tickets are $40 and they will sell out, yes, on Tuesday! 


Wednesday August 28:

Taryn Manning @ STK: Taryn Manning, yes Taryn Manning the one who played Eminem’s girlfriend thing in Eight Mile and is now also a DJ will be doing a live performance at STK this Wednesday. Dash Berlin at Sutra5, Day 1: Voted one of the top DJs last year in DJ Mag’s Top 100, Dash Berlin will be hitting the decks in Newport Beach.  Sutra provides Orange County with one of the hottest and best nightclubs. An opening performance by Dash Berlin as a part of their 5+1 LDW lineup, Sutra will be packed all weekend. Grab tickets to the event now!


Thursday August 29:

Nervo @ Greystone Manor: Australian cuties, Nervo, will be performaning at Greystone this coming Thursday. The two bombshell DJs have been getting a lot of attention coming off a huge EDC Las Vegas performance. You can grab tickets for $85 and they will sell out!


Insomniac Presents Armin Van Buuren: There is no one in the world quite like the renowned DJ/producer Armin Van Buuren. Leading the way in trance movement, ASOT, Armin was solidified a strong & loyal fan base. Surprisingly tickets are still available for $55


Cedric Gervais at Sutra5, Day 2: Hit single “Molly” has got Cederic Gervais a lot of attention this summer. Associated with some of the EDM outrage between Joel Zimmerman and Madonna, Gervais stood tall with very blunt song.  Get you fix of Cederic Gervais and probably some “Molly” at Sutra for $20.


Lure Nightclub presents Bad Boy Bill: With an opening set by Bones, LURE will certainly be a party all night. Headlining act Bad Boy Bill will make an LA appearance this LDW when he hits one of LA’s hottest nightclubs. Tickets are $40!


Friday August 30:

Incognito 6-Year Anniversary featuring James Holden @ King King Hollywood: After throwing 330+ events, Incognito celebrates its 6th Year Anniversary by returning to their home venue for years and they're bringing in the rather amazing house and techno guru, James Holden. This is an exclusive West Coast performance 9:30 pm until 4:00 am. Franco Benito, our man CK and VJ Kris Bertrand are also on the bill. RSVP and get tickets here. Insomniac presents Armin Van Buuren: If you are unable to catch his Thursday performance, well that’s too bad because without paying ticket brokers you wont be able to see him Friday. THE SHOW IS SOLD OUT!

Junior Sanchez at Sutra5, Day 4: Now officially apart of Steve Angello’s SIZE records, Junior Sanchez has much to celebrate this LDW.  Finish the day of day drinking and beach parties by catching Sanchez on the tables. Tickets are $20!


Sunday September 02:

Bask with DJ Koze at Standard Hotel Rooftop: Whilst some will be far along on a whimsical journey they call Burning Man, others will be holding down the fort in the real world, and the LA music scene in particular. The hard knock life of LA summer is upon us, and the pool is beckoning always. On Sunday, September 2, BASK @ The Standard is set to go off with a renowned artist who will take you on your own whimsical voyage. Harmonic is pleased to welcome back to LA for an extended set: the man, the myth, the legend—DJ Koze. 1- 8 pm. It's $10 before 2 pm with RSVP, which you can do here.


Pacific Festival: On the warm sands of Newport Beach comes the annual party, Pacific Festival. This year the lineup with more of an indie rock line up with headlining talent such as Mayer Hawthorne, Poolside, Capital Cities, Fool’s Gold, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.. Avalon Presents Ferry Corsten & Kristina Sky: Seems like Avalon is participating in the LDW festivities by being open for the entire weekend. The party doesn’t stop on Saturday this week with a special LDW performance by Ferry Corsten & Kristina Sky.  Grab tickets for $36


Volume Sundays presents Crizzly: The official Pacific Festival after party will be held at Ten Nightclub. The nightclub is complete with a 360 wall of LED lights and two separate DJ booths. The young man they call Crizzly will be taking the stage. We featured him a while back with his new remix “Chain Hang Low.” Grab $15 tickets for the after party today!


Manufactured Superstars at Sutra5, Day 5: You may know them from Beatport, you may know them for their ridiculous spacemen outfits, either way party throwers Brad and Shawn will be coming into Orange County this Sunday. Manufactured Superstars is to headline one of the final nights in Sutra’s 5+1 LDW event. Tickets are still on sale for one of the ‘un’official after parties to Pacific Fest. Grab em for $20 presale, but prices can jump to $30.


Monday September 03:

Benny Benassi at Sutra5, Day 6: One of the most iconic DJs of our time will be closing LDW at Sutra. Benny Benassi himself will be SELLING OUT Sutra Nightclub in OC. Tickets are selling out already in several tiers. Early Bird is Sold out, and there is a HIGH sellout rate the $40, $50 and $60 tiers. Grab them now before they are gone!
