The news you’ve eagerly been anticipating has finally surfaced: Sensation has officially announced the lineup for their two night Innerspace show at Brooklyn’s brand new Barclays Center October 26 and 27. Saturday’s show has been sold out for quite some time now, but you can still grab tickets for Friday here.
Lineups, in order of appearance:
October 26: Mr. White, Dennis Ferrer, Fedde Le Grand, Joris Voorn, Nic Fanciulli
October 27: Mr. White, Danny Tenaglia, Fedde Le Grand, 2000 and One, Mark Knight,
Mr. White, Sensation’s resident, will open both nights and will surely get the crowd moving… if you like upbeat, funky house. On Friday, following up Mr. White, the one and only Dennis Ferrer will undoubtedly drop a fantastic soulful house set. Saturday will see yet another New York house legend, Danny Tenaglia. For our west coast readers, Tenaglia is playing in LA this weekend. We’re giving away a pair of tickets right now via Facebook. More info here if you wanna go. [Hoping to hear this one. -ED]
Both nights will bookend international star, Fedde Le Grand (tell me Fedde Le Grand & Deniz Koyu remix of Digitalism tune "Zdarlight" isn't going to sound massive on that system), whose powerful style of high-energy, uplifting house will probably be one of the highlights of the weekend. Friday, Joris Voorn will be loaning his talents for the night as he doses the crowd with an infectious blend of house and old school techno. Saturday’s second to last act will feature 2000 and One, a producer out of Amsterdam that I’m not entirely familiar with but upon listening will most certainly be…some form of house. 2000 and One will add some unique flare to Sensation, his deep roots in techno reach through to his heavy hitting house and I don’t think he’s ever played in the city before.
Finally, Friday night will come to conclusion under the decks of UK’s Nic Fanciulli. Saturday will be headlined by Mark Knight, probably one of the bigger players in both lineups and sure to bring a different energy than his predecessors before him.
Look, if the Barclays Center doesn’t implode because of too much house then it will stand forever. Do I think $170 is an enormous price for one night of house? Yes. Will I consider going as the date approaches? Yes. I just wish that Sensation would return to its roots in trance, I think it complemented the visuals much better. Although, $170 may not be that large of a price tag for quality house, especially when you hear the repetitive shit that’s being played at festivals these days.
