I don’t know what Halloween is like for the rest of the country, but I’m pretty sure that Los Angeles gets it on like no other city. The majority of the people in this town are here trying to pretend to be other people on a daily basis; Halloween is like Nirvana in this city.
If you’re an EDM culture loving Angelino, Gary Richards’ Day Of The Dead show (although not on Halloween proper, show is November 3) is definitely the place to be. Go Hard, go Destructo. If you’ve yet to get your tickets, we’ve got a pair of them up for grabs for a lucky reader out there. You can enter here.
You also have another chance… we just got word of a new collaboration with Los Angeles artists’ Han Cholo (aka Brandon Schoolhouse) and MFG (aka Matthew Goldman of Dance Right) for a commemorative piece of jewelry. The Hard x MFG x Han Cholo collaboration is a sterling silver ring with the iconic MFG Day of the Dead skull wearing Hard headphones. That's it above. Only five rings have been made and you’re not going to be able to purchase one, but you can get it free.
Four of the rings will be hidden across Los Angeles and beginning tomorrow, October 25, you will have the chance to find them as clues are unlocked via Hard's Twitter here.
We have been wanting to do a collaboration for a while now and the Day of the Dead seemed like the perfect timing. The MFG skull is a key part of our imagery for Day of the Dead and we knew that Brandon could bring it to life really well, we are all really happy with the end result. -Gary Richards, HARD’s founder
