My Shadowscene Life: Ellei Johndro Hits LA’s Summertramp Finale, The Barbary with Grandpa Jeremy in Philly with a Juan Maclean Nightcap
Good music, good looking people, good times. So goes the life of our pal Ellei Johndro from Shadow Scene. If you've ever wondered what it would be like to travel around the country shooting nightclubs for a living, here's a little slice of that EDM culture life. Every Tuesday Ellei will share her highs and lows in pixelated format...live vicariously. -ED
The last two weeks have been a whirlwind of seasonal changes. It seems I was just surrounded with bathing suit clad vixens and wild boys at the Summertramp Finale in Los Angeles and am now buried in flannels and knit beanies. This past week in Philly, I visited Grandpa Jeremy from EXIT Skate and stopped through the weekly ‘90s indie bash at The Barbary: Beavis and Butthead galore. A new monthly dance party, Electric Feel, kicked off and I got to play some of my favorite jams from the mid 2000s while being reminded of just how hard Philly can party. And with seasonal changes comes seasonal festivities: Oktoberfest took over the city along with a few fall tours. The DFA Records crew exploded the dancefloor at Morgan's Pier for their closing weekend and Juan Maclean and I talked about how a few more layers would have been appropriate for the twenty degree temperature drop. Oh, and missing the California sunshine.
Flannels, beanies and sunshine; it all sounds pretty fantastic to me...
