After surviving the eye of the Frankenstorm, it feels as if these events just days ago were months past. There are boats on railroad tracks, cars floating down the street and houses plastered with layers of leaves and branches. Fortunately, I've been able to tread the waters and even maintain electricity…and naturally, continue onward with the planned Hallows Eve festivities. But, before the Storm of the Century hit, I was hanging with my pals Poolside, Bonde do Role and Com Truise at their show in Philly. If you haven't listened to any of these guys yet, it's a must! And then of course, the Halloween haunts began, mainly with Dave P’s infamous Making Time at The Barbary taking over three entire floors and drowning everyone in dry ice and rum. The place was filled with unicorns, aliens, TV characters and an abundance of zombie clad hippie chicks. I gotta say; I love Halloween and the variety of costumes (last years hot dog suit won my favorite vote) but I'm hoping for a few more classic ghoul and spook themed costumes this week. Unicorns are cute. Aliens are rad. And the Alice Cooper costume was perfection. But someone needs to break out the classic cult cinema style costumes or maybe even just cut some holes in a sheet. Also, more candy corns please.
