DJ@War: Five Songs I Can't Live Without

1. Afrika Bambaataa & Soul Sonic Force “Planet Rock”

This takes me back to roller skating rinks… I think this may have been the first electronic record I heard—and my life was never the same. The first record I bought, and the most influential song of my life.

2. Techmaster PEB “Computer Love”

This is a song off an album that changed my life. I saw this tape and bought it because I loved the cover and thought it may have some scratching on it. I remember listening to this on the back of the bus with my first girlfriend and rewinding it again and again.

3. Toto “Africa”

Something about this song just reels you in. The first time I played in Kenya I played this at the end of my set and the crowd went nuts!

4. Prodigy “Breathe”

Growing up my mom was really into rock music, and when I heard Prodigy it all started making sense—rock and electro are close cousins.

5. Laidback Luke & Lee Mortimer “Blau”

The drop on this…are you kidding me? This is so hard! Laidback Luke back in 2009 is a big influence on how I make music today.
