Kris Menace is all set to release “Hide” (Featuring Miss Kittin) this Monday on his label Compuphonic. Miss Kittin had nothing but praise for Menace, who has worked for artists such as LCD Soundsystem, Depeche Mode, Metronomy, Royksopp, Air, Moby, and Lana Del Rey.
The weirdest thing is Kris and I never met, she said. I can imagine the album being an extension of his reality, an imaginary world where strong values and fantasy come together. His music is solid, incredible production skills, with an Italo disco-ish-French touchy twist... After working on millions versions, Kris turned the song into a superb space disco ballad, more subtle, more beautiful than the original. I am so glad he did that. Thats when collaboration is successful, pushing each other forward.
The video for “Hide” is completely animated in black and white and was created by Mathieu Bétard and Parisian production house Quad/WizzProd.
“Hide” has also been remixed by a ton of artists such as Nhar, Undo, and Maethelvin. You can download the the Alexander Maier Remix here:
The song is part of Menace’s debut album Features, which features artists such as house music legend Robert Owens, Daft Punk collaborator Romanthony, and MTV award winner Simon Lord (singer for Justice's "We Are Your Friends").
I can promise that no one has ever heard Julian Hamilton from The Presets, Xavier Naidoo or Miss Kittin like this before, said Menace. Every track on this album is so unique and the range of artists so diverse.
