Between millions of views across YouTube, concurring a 33 date US and Canada tour and remixing the likes of Lana Del Rey, Emeli Sandé and Ed Sheeran, the 22-year-old Gemini (aka Thomas Slinger) is well on his way to stardom.
It also doesn’t hurt that Gemini runs his own label, Inspected Records, which has pioneered the rise of underground artists such as Koan Sound and Zeds Dead.
If you’re not familiar with the man, no better time to dig in than right now; the singer-songwriter from Leicester, released his new EP today, “Mercury” via his imprint Inspected Records. The EP features five tracks: “Robots,” “3D Romeo” (Feat. Fabienne), “Freedom,” “Losing My Way” and “Second Law.”
In celebration of his five track EP, we asked Gemini to give us five songs he can’t live without. He did and here you go…
1. Coldplay “U.F.O"
Whilst driving down the coast of California this track inspired me to write my album.
2. Daft Punk “Aerodynamic”
This piece of music got me into electronic music.
3. Thomas Newman “Four Elections”
One of the most inspirational soundtracks I have in my music library. I love the organic feel to it.
4. Radiohead “Pyramid Song”
I love how this track goes against the grain in its entirety.
5. Muse “Exogensis: Symphony Pt. 3: Redemption”
The ultimate emotional journey. One of Muse’s best pieces.
