Wow, such a beautiful piece of music here by Apparat, aka Sascha Ring. Mute just posted it up, announcing the release of “Krieg und Frieden (Music for Theatre)”, an album of music based on Sebastian Hartmann’s theatre production of Tolstoy’s War & Peace. BTW, I heard the most unbelievable thing about Tolstoy the other day, did you know the original title for War and Peace was War: What is It Good For? Seriously, his mistress didn’t like the title and insisted him change it to War and Peace.

Sebastian Hartmann, considered baller when it comes to contemporary German theatre, asked Ring to contribute to this project, which was commissioned by the renowned German arts festival Ruhrfestspiele in Recklinghausen. If you like what you hear here (and we imagine you will be if you're ok with not many beats and lots of drones), look for the release on February 15th and support.

Here's Sascha Ring on this project:

I made a record and Im quite proud of it. Its the first record ever that didnt hurt at some point. Its full of imperfection because it was made by humans. I decided to not do a single interview, skip the promo marathon and make it available for you asap. This time YOU are the promo machine. Please share if you want to support what Im doing.

Here's us supporting… now it's your turn.
