My Shadowscene Life: Final DanceRight & Hands & Knees
The end of 2012 seemed to hold a lot of finales and big celebrations. I watched friends win big on Wheel of Fortune, parties like Dance Right that had been a huge part of our scene since 2006 came to a close and old friends visited and made me re-appreciate some old projects that had been hiding in cardboard boxes. So, with 2013, I chose to start my year off with a week of reflection and downtime. I never make resolutions, although I love watching others attempt to keep theirs. Rather, I make a list of goals at the beginning of every year and strategize. I'll admit this year’s is pretty lengthy (photo books, revamped clothing line, new music, screenplays, etc.) but so far I believe I'm off to a pretty good start! If you know me, you know that with a time of reflection comes a lot of writing and sorting through ideas so naturally, I spent a lot of this first week working on the follow up album for Biker Daughter. FINALLY! If there's one great thing about the desolation of winter on the east coast is that it's a perfect time to lock yourself up in a studio with friends and get creative. So between utilizing these short days and long nights, the creative isolation of winter as well as the beginning chapters for new events this year, it looks like the upcoming months will be unfolding with a pretty amazing creative landscape in the world of Shadowscene.
