My Shadowscene Life: Neon & Leather at Electric Feel and Ham On Ham with Alice Glass
The East Coast feels a bit like being in John Carpenter's The Fog. For the past three days once the sun sets, a dense mist crawls in and just hovers until day break. You can't see more than two feet in front of you and it's like reaching into a misty void not really knowing what you're about to run into. After hours of seclusion in which I caught up on the entire first season of Girls, thanks to a killer care package from HBO, this is what I walked into when I ventured out from the Shadowscene HQ. Mist. Fog. And nearly sixty degrees in January. Clearly, leather jacket weather. So at Electric Feel this month everyone seemed to have shed their scarves and hats and it was full on leather clad mixed with neon prints. I've come to realize the leather jacket is more or less a wardrobe necessity and may as well be a requirement next to a motorcycle in the city of Brotherly Love.
Between DJing Electric Feel and exploring what lies a couple feet in front of me in the heavy fog, I also somehow managed to do some more writing and study up on the Bones Brigade which I'll file under sports. Otherwise, this week has been filled with developing a newfound appreciation for the Japandroids, sharing my Sunday Funday facts for an interview from Barcelona and avoiding the obvious things like Sundance and The Golden Globes.
