Punks Jump Up by Jenny Sparks

I'm a sucker for type. Not sure what that's all about, I'm not a designer or anything, but I've always appreciated a nice font. Especially hand drawn typefaces. Might go back to grade school days of notebook doodling, but for what ever reason when I find myself defacing a piece of paper out of boredom it usually ends up with a bunch of letters all over it.

I just came across Jenni Sparks this morning. Love her handdrawn poster for Punks Jump Up. If you have some time, flip through her site. She does this thing called Music Monday where she creates some kinda drawing inspired by a song or artist or album, etc. Not all EDM type stuff, but all good.

This Punks Jump Up one has an interesting story about how it came to be. Here it is in her own words:

"This piece was drawn after listening to Punks Jump Up, 'Feels Good.' Basically I was birthday drunk in Lightbox in Vauxhall, when I spotted David Andersson, one half of Punks Jump Up. I started ranting about how much I loved their music (which I DO) and ended up giving him my business card. They emailed me and said they liked my work and I now have finally drawn this for them!"

So there you have it and here's the song in case you haven't heard it. We're with Jenni, it's a pretty damn fun tune.

"And you should download it and all the remixes as well because they are really good too."

Roger that Jenni. You can pick up the "Feel's Good" EP (Kitsuné) via Beatport here.
