Stumbled upon this one a few days ago (1 day after we published our Top Ten singles chart—or this would have been on it) and I have been hitting repeat on the regular since. Jupiter Jazz is the lion-hearted duo of Maceo Plex and Danny Daze and if this "Booty Jazz" EP hints at what's to come, we've got some monstrous (in the best possible way) music on the horizon.
All three cuts on the EP are solid, but "Shake It Mama" is the standout, IMO. If you appreciate the '80s, have a thing for electro and like your sounds ominous and decadent (read: one foot in the past with an eye on the future), the growling low-end and Cameo style vocoder will treat you right.
"Technology" goes warming and deeper while "Good Girl" keeps the sleaze alive. All in, "Booty Jazz" is primed to cause some serious dancefloor misbehavior. Look for the EP on Monday March 4th, via Ellum Audio.
