Review: Makj “Hold Up” (Original Mix)

New electronic music here. If the name Makj doesn’t ring bells in the average raver’s mind, then stay tuned. Makj is the man behind the tech-house banger “Crunch” and the wildly popular remix of “Gold Everything” and the rising star is only getting started. Working with the likes of Robbie Rivera, remixing Sandro Silva, establishing a residency at Tryst Nightclub in Las Vegas and playing at Ultra Music Festival are only the beginning of a long list of accomplishments this emerging talent has earned in the span of a year. Now he is back to grace our ears with another original banger, “Hold Up.” Unlike most of the artists that flood the EDM scene, it is Makj’s seamless integration of multiple genres that have helped him gain a foothold and bolster his sonic persona. With a flurry of progressive, detuned, pitch modulated synths and a grinding tech house bassline it’s no wonder why this club monster has enlightened many fans—and it's not even out yet.. MAKJ is here to stay and is definitely part of the new generation of producers that blur traditional boundaries to create more powerful and club-driven music. Here's to hoping this gets released soon...
