After a long week at Winter Music Conference in Miami, we here at Magnetic Magazine have been picking up the pieces and tying our hardest to catch up with all the amazing music that fills our inboxes on a daily basis. Hopefully all you EDM fans are recuperating and look at this space in the days to come for excellent coverage of what was an amazing week of music. However, there is no rest for the weary and I would be not doing my job to the fullest extent if I did not share this amazing new release with you.
New electronic music here. Felix Da Housecat dropped his two song EP "Sinner Winner" last week and it is fucking awesome. This release is his first in over four years and was well worth the wait. The Chicago native has been part of the house music scene for over two decades and has inspired many great musicians you listen to today. His ability to constantly stay relevant speaks volumes to the quality of music he puts out.
The A-side "Sinner Winner" harkens back to old-school Chicago house with a woman PA in the background pumping up the crowd. The eight minute plus track takes you on a groovy journey; it is house music at its finest. The B-side "Give ME Body" starts out with a catchy beat morphing into a full blown funky house song. Don't be surprised if after you finish the EP you feel like you have been taken back to the '80s as the album is a retro-trip.
Check out the teaser below and look out for a Green Velvet remix of "Sinner Winner" in the near future. Purchase the EP via iTunes here.
