In case you haven't heard, the Knife just released Shaking The Habitual, their first album in like seven years. What a wait it's been and after having a preview of it via Soundcloud, it's been well worth the time. Here you go, have a listen.

If you like what you hear above, pick up the album via the Rabid Records store here.  BTW, Dazed Digital recently put together a nice feature about the new album and the bands sonic direction, which you can read here.

The Knife’s new directness is partly inspired by their involvement in a politicized and art-focused branch of the queer community in Berlin, where Dreijer has lived for seven years. “It has been a great eye-opener,” says Andersson, who often visits her brother in the city. Among the duo’s friends there is Marit Ostberg, the Swedish-born feminist porn director who directed the video to the new album’s mindblowing first single, “Full of Fire.”

Now the real reason for this post, I just came across this bass heavy Cooly G remix of "A Tooth For An Eye" off the new album and have hit replay a few times already. Pair that Cooly G remix up with Romare's "The Blues (It Began in Africa)" and you've got yourself a winning combination. That's what I say anyway. Ok, check out the Cooly G remix of "A Tooth For An Eye"—hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

And here's The Knife talking about the album:
